Why start-stop and European cars cost more
A car that switches its engine off at the lights needs an EFB or AGM battery, built to survive constant restarts. Those cost more to make than a conventional battery of the same size, and fitting a cheaper one in their place wears it out within months.
Many European cars also need the new battery registered with the car’s computer, and often keep it in the boot or under a seat. That is why Mercedes, BMW, Audi and Range Rover batteries sit in the top band.
AGM and start-stop battery replacementBattery sizes and what they mean for the price
The label on the old battery gives its size: capacity in amp-hours (60, 70 or 80 Ah are the common saloon and SUV sizes), plus a JIS code such as 55D23L or 80D26L on Japanese and Korean cars, or a DIN size such as DIN74 on European ones. A bigger battery of the same type and brand costs more. Send a photo of the label and the price is quoted for that exact size.
FAQ
Car battery prices: common questions
How much is a car battery in Dubai?
Between AED 249 and AED 1,200 fitted, depending on the size and type your car takes and the brand you choose. Hatchbacks sit at the bottom of the range and European cars with AGM batteries at the top.
What is the price of an Amaron battery in the UAE?
Fitted Amaron batteries run from AED 280 to AED 950 with us, depending on the size. A typical saloon size falls in the standard band of AED 380 to 650.
Is fitting included in these prices?
Yes. Every figure on this page is a fitted price: battery, fitting at your car, the charging test, disposal of the old battery and the warranty. There is no call-out charge on top.
Why does the same size battery cost more for some cars?
Start-stop cars need an EFB or AGM battery, which costs more to make than a conventional one, and many European cars also need the new battery registered with the car's computer. Batteries mounted in the boot or under a seat take longer to reach.
Is the price the same in Sharjah?
Yes. One price list covers Dubai and Sharjah, with no charge for crossing the border.
How do I get the exact price for my car?
Send the make, model and year on WhatsApp, and a photo of the old battery's label if you can reach it. The fitted price comes back before a van leaves, and it does not change at the car.
