Mercedes-Benz batteries: what to know before replacing one

Nearly every recent Mercedes-Benz uses an AGM main battery. Depending on the model it sits under the bonnet, under a front seat or in the boot, and a vent tube has to be refitted correctly afterwards.

Many models also carry a small auxiliary battery that supports start-stop and the electronics. A dashboard message about the auxiliary battery refers to that second unit, so we test both before recommending a replacement.

Some models need the new battery registered or the battery monitor reset. We check for your model before the van leaves.

How do I use the warranty?

Send the invoice number on WhatsApp. If the battery has failed inside its warranty period, a technician returns to your car and swaps it without charge.

My car is three levels underground. Is that a problem?

No. Basement and podium jobs are the bulk of our work. Tell us the tower name, the level and the bay number, and the technician brings a portable jump pack and tester down to the car.
